Mediation and arbitration are both forms of alternative dispute resolution (ADR), procedures commonly used to resolve disagreements more quickly and economically than they could be through protracted courthouse litigation.
Former Judge Bob Jenevein heads the Firm's mediation and arbitration section. As a veteran panelist for the American Arbitration Association and an arbitration advocate who has won over $70 million in arbitration awards, Jenevein has the perspective that only comes from experience.
Bryan Pope is a frequent mediator and has been for more than 20 years. Pope is board certified in civil trial law and personal injury trial law and has experience mediating a vast array of cases including construction matters, business divorces, employment cases, and many other types of business and tort-based litigation.
Our firm's nonbinding mediation practice encompasses referrals from Texas courts in Collin, Dallas, Kaufman, Rockwall and Tarrant counties. More commonly, however, the parties select us, knowing they will be treated fairly and professionally.
Mediation presents a great opportunity to resolve the issues in dispute, whether suit has been filed or is about to be filed. Our facilities are centrally located and designed for either two-party or multiple-party mediations. Binding arbitration proceedings are also conducted by our ADR group attorneys.
Our mediators and arbitrators have helped parties resolve hundreds of conflicts and have significant experience in virtually all types of matters involving many areas of the law, including:
- Business disputes
- Personal injury
- Family law
- Construction disputes
- Breach of contract disputes
- Health care liability disputes
- Executive compensation agreements
- Employment disputes
- Workers' compensation nonsubscriber cases
- Premises liability disputes
- Misappropriation of trade secrets disputes
- Noncompetition agreement disputes
We generally conduct mediations and arbitrations at our Dallas office, but we have also conducted them at other offices in Dallas, out of town, and out of the country.
