Experience
Mr. Waddell concentrates his practice on business and commercial litigation matters in both federal and state courts with an emphasis in business, banking, probate and real estate litigation. Mr. Waddell has represented a wide variety of business and individuals including Fortune 500 companies, commercial landlords, banking and financial institutions, and software development companies. Prior to joining the firm, Mr. Waddell served as an associate at Vial, Hamilton, Koch & Knox, L.L.P.
Education
Mr. Waddell received his Bachelor of Business Administration in Economics and Finance from the Baylor University in 2000. He attended Baylor University School of Law, where he served as Executive Editor of the Baylor Law Review prior to earning his law degree in 2003. Mr. Waddell then obtained an LL.M. in Taxation from Southern Methodist University School of Law.
Representative Transactions
Represented commercial landlord in defense of claims for breach of lease agreement valued in excess of $45,000,000.00. Obtained favorable settlement for client.
Represented publisher in defense of copyright infringement claims. Obtained settlement for less than 1% of the $9,000,000.00 in damages sought by the opposing party.
Represented a national restaurant financing association in defense of class action. Obtained favorable settlement of claims prior to class certification.
Represented international restaurant chain in its successful defense of an application to designate its Dallas location as a historical landmark.
Represented numerous financial institutions in recovery of debt and collateral valued in excess of $7,500,000.00.
